How to Feel Good About Yourself Everyday
Most feel-good articles tend toward teaching how to have a healthy and strong self-esteem. This one, however, is going to assume that your self-esteem is just fine. It is targeting the fact that most people get into slumps or bumps in life’s road and sometimes need a boost. So, here are a few steps to feeling good about yourself – even on a bad day.
Step 1
Stick to your normal healthy routine. If you don’t have a healthy routine, pick one healthier thing to do today. Do not allow a bad day to give you permission to gorge or be lazy. These are the things that attack how you feel about yourself at the end of the day. Stay steady on your normal daily course.
Step 2
Face any dilemmas head on and as early as possible. The anticipation for these things tend to be worse than the situation itself. Take care of it, put it behind you and get on with your day without the baggage. It will do wonders for your mood.
Step 3
Listen to something inspirational and/or healing. Have you made yourself an upbeat or healing CD for the car or a play list for your MP3 player? No? Do it ASAP.
Step 4
Smiling is contagious. Smile at people, they will smile back and you will get a boost in your mood.
Step 5
Do something with your creativity, hobby or talent. Even if you worked hard today, do something that makes you who you are. When you accomplish something – even a small something - you care about, it makes you feel good. The television will not do this for you.
Step 6
Give yourself a pat on the back. Tell yourself out loud, ‘I did good today.’
